GUIDE TO FEELING BETTER
The Guide to Feeling Better is an Awareness Project of The Mental Health and Substance Abuse Awareness Committee, of which EHCA is a partner organization. Among other things, the site offers information on Mental Health and Substance Abuse topics, practical tips and encouragement. You’ll also find information about Employee Assistance programs and employers' FAQs on mental health and wellness topics. IRS ISSUES NEW HSA GUIDANCE
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released Notice 2008-59 on June 25, providing additional guidance on health saving accounts (HSAs). The new guidance includes answers to more than 40 new frequently asked questions that cover a variety of topics, including: who is an eligible individual, issues regarding high-deductible health plans, contributions to HSAs, distributions from HSAs, and establishing an HSA. 2006 SURVEY OF EMPLOYERS' VIEWS ON SMOKING IN THE WORKPLACE
In 2006, the Employer Health Care Alliance (EHCA), with help from the Employers Resource Association, surveyed employers in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and Central Ohio, with the goal of learning about employer opinions and attitudes on smoking in the workplace. The survey was funded by a generous grant from the Hamilton County Tobacco-Free Partnership.
The survey resulted in a 16-page report, "No 'Butts' About It: Employers' Views On Smoking In The Workplace."
